Jillian Alden, P-RDT, Registered Associate Counselor (she/her)
Mental Health Therapist
Jillian Alden (she/her), P-RDT
Jillian is a Registered Associate Counselor working towards licensure in Oregon, as well as a Provisional Registered Drama Therapist. She earned her master’s degree in mental health counseling with drama therapy from Antioch University Seattle, and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Washington. Jillian was born and
raised in the Willamette Valley and is thrilled to be home, living and working in her community. Jillian has experience working with a diverse array of clients, including folx who identify with the LGBTQIA+ community, adolescents, those experiencing grief and loss, and neurodiverse clients working through child and family concerns, anxiety, depression, and
more. She is passionate about bringing a trauma-informed lens to all elements of her practice to give you the best possible care.
Jillian is guided by several theories and techniques in her practice, believing that clients are the expert of their own experiences and the therapist is more like a guide. Therefore, Jillian believes that treatment should be something that therapist and client decide on together. With her training in both traditional talk-therapy and in drama therapy, Jillian has a variety of psychological, systemic, evidence based, and creative approaches for working with individuals. She utilizes a variety of creative art therapy techniques including role-play, improvisation, embodied storytelling, mask making, and movement to address symptom relief and personal growth. Jillian believes that using techniques from drama therapy to embody and visualize an experience or emotion can bring new clarity and understanding that isn’t always available through words.
In her personal time, Jillian enjoys spending time with her partner, her step/bonus kid, their two cats (Mia and Kat), and dog (Oreo). She also enjoys crocheting, playing games with her friends, and collecting new experiences. Outside the clinic, she can often be found at the theater – acting, directing, attending, or helping in the background.
